Description of the solution
The C40 Cities Finance Facility supports cities in developing and emerging economies to prepare and implement climate mitigation and adaptation projects. It provides technical and financial assistance to help cities develop sustainable infrastructure projects, such as low-carbon public transport systems and renewable energy installations, contributing to significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing urban resilience.

The CFF is funded by the Government of the United Kingdom, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and USAID. It is jointly implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group.
