OVERVIEW
The concept of a green economy is on the rise in Iraq. The UNDP Iraq Accelerator Lab supports this move through sensing, exploring and mapping innovative local solutions to facilitate the shift of Iraq’s economy toward sustainability. One of these local solutions is the design and production of creative Eco-Bags by vulnerable women. These items feature authentic Iraqi designs with a mix of traditional and modern motifs to spread Mesopotamian culture to the world. They also encourage the public to preserve the environment, participate in societal good, and support the Iraq plan towards a green economy, thus initiating positive behavioral change toward the consumption of environmentally friendly products.
