Learnings on your challenge
What are the top key insights you generated about your learning challenge during this Action Learning Plan? (Please list a maximum of 5 key insights)
The top key insights are the following:
- The urgent need to disponibilize georeferenced data on GBV in Mauritania;
- The necessity to mainstream innovation and technology use in fithing against GBV in Mauritania;
- The urgency to faciliate an inclusive response to GBV

Can you provide more detail on your handover process?
Activities planned under this learning cycle are still going on, precisely an LOA has been issued with the university to conduct a study on spatial distribution of the VBG cases across the city of Nouakchott. Moreover, the ongoing development of an application for signaling on rea time and reporting GBV by the victims. the ongoing collaboration with the University has calminated on activly dedicated group of students engaged in exloring, analysisng and fighting against GBV within the university and beyond. We believe that these activities can be easily scalled up to a large scale in the country thanks to the governement engagement.

Data and Methods
Relating to your types of data, why did you chose these? What gaps in available data were these addressing?
Our exploration and mapping processes have led to identify a substential gap when it comes to GBV related data. in fact, several factors prevent a proper declaration and reporting of GBV cases, which led us to choose to collect data using innovative as well as anonymous way of collecting data to inform the decision making process in the country.
Why was it necessary to apply the above innovation method on your frontier challenge? How did these help you to unpack the system?
The system thinking, sensemaking and solution mapping enabled us to identify and undrestand key challenges associated with the GBV in the country. These innovative mthods highlightened the importance of urgently collecting data and use these innovation to halp victims report GBV incidents

Bonus question: How did the interplay of innovation methods, new forms of data and unusual partners enable you to learn & generate insights, that otherwise you would have not been able to achieve?
The learning is still going on, but according to what has been already done, we can confrim that we have been able to generate data and insights about an issue, barely debated, that of VBG at the university.
