Learnings on your challenge
What are the top key insights you generated about your learning challenge during this Action Learning Plan? (Please list a maximum of 5 key insights)
- The data collected so far in grant projects within UNDP are usually not compiled since they belong to different projects and many of them have been managed by the partners in those projects. This caused a lack of information on reporting towards SDGs.
- There is an urgent need for a software to be used for call for proposals, collection of applications, evaluation of applications and monitoring
Considering the outcomes of this learning challenge, which of the following best describe the handover process? (Please select all that apply)
Our work has led to significant changes in our UNDP Country Office programming, Our work has been picked up by UNDP or the government and has now expanded geographically in our country
Can you provide more detail on your handover process?
AccLab noticed the need for such a software since there is a large sized grant component in civic engagement project. AccLab conducted a market research and found the alternatives that can be used in this context. The alternatives were presented to project staff and one of them is selected. AccLab worked on the initial configuration of the system together with the company. An SDG component has been added to help reporting of CO towards SDGs. Then the system was handed over to Civic Engagement Project for further development of the application portal. The project will use the platform form the beginning until the end of the selected projects for grants. AccLab will then interfere again to compile and report the SDG contributions. The platform will be presented to other portfolios of the CO for them to use for future grant programs.

Data and Methods
Relating to your types of data, why did you chose these? What gaps in available data were these addressing?
The applications and reports collected under grant schemes were hard copy until this year, so it is not possible to see collectively
Why was it necessary to apply the above innovation method on your frontier challenge? How did these help you to unpack the system?
The challenge is not "not having the data" but not having them collectively. By the software the report of different grant schemes can be collectively analyzed and reported. so the need is the data visualization by a grant managment software designed specifically for this purpose.
Partners
Please indicate what partners you have actually worked with for this learning challenge.
Please state the name of the partner:
Tactiv Company from Australia
What sector does your partner belong to?
Private Sector
Please provide a brief description of the partnership.
Service provision was made from the company to configure the system specifically for UNDP needs
Is this a new and unusual partner for UNDP?
Yes
End
Bonus question: How did the interplay of innovation methods, new forms of data and unusual partners enable you to learn & generate insights, that otherwise you would have not been able to achieve?
Since the grant scheme is still continuing the applications have been collected. One of the questions in the application form is contribution to SDGs. But for reporting purposes only the data of the selected proposals will be used, so this will happen in 2024. In 2023, the system has been configured for UNDP needs. The evaluation will also be made from the system as well as the monitoring of the developments in each project and financials.
Please upload any further supporting evidence / documents / data you have produced on your frontier challenge that showcase your learnings.
